This Day in Delaware History:
1903    The General Assembly passed the State Aid Act which provided $30,000 for paved roads.  While New Castle and Sussex Counties took advantage of it, Kent didn't.

1945    The highest number of 4,300 German POWs was reached in Delaware at Fort du Pont and branch camps downstate.

1986    Richard 'Kip' du Pont, owner of Summit Airport died of a heart attack at age 49.

2008    The US Supreme Court decided in Delaware's favor yet another dispute between it and New Jersey concerning, in this case, the latter's efforts to build a gas terminal on its side of the Delaware River.
