DNREC’s Division of Soil and Water Conservation will conduct a public hearing 4 p.m. Monday, April 27 on proposed Delaware Dam Safety Regulations for Delaware’s publicly owned dams with high or significant hazard classifications. The meeting will be held at DNREC’s auditorium, Richardson and Robbins Building, 89 Kings Highway in Dover.


DNREC’s Division of Soil and Water Conservation will conduct a public hearing 4 p.m. Monday, April 27 on proposed Delaware Dam Safety Regulations for Delaware’s publicly owned dams with high or significant hazard classifications. The meeting will be held at DNREC’s auditorium, Richardson and Robbins Building, 89 Kings Highway in Dover.
 
The proposed regulations will establish standards for inspection, operation and maintenance, and overall responsibilities of public dam owners and agencies.  Also required under the proposed regulations will be the development of Emergency Action Plans for each dam as funding is available.

The proposed regulations are available on DNREC’s website, http://www.swc.dnrec.delaware.gov/Pages/default.aspx or can be viewed weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the DNREC Division of Soil and Water Conservation office, Richardson and Robbins Building, 2nd Floor, 89 Kings Highway, Dover. On Dec. 11, 2208, DNREC held a public workshop on the proposed regulations that included an overview of the regulatory development and the proposed regulations. At the workshop, the public had the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.
