1898 The Sussex Trust Company bank opened in Lewes.
1921 The dispute of the Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania borders northwest of Newark at the Wedge was finally settled in favor of Delaware.
1958 On the first day of spring 15.6 inches of snow fell within 24 hours in New Castle County during one of the snowiest winters with 49.5"
