Anthony “Tony” Gorski, of Milford, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.  He was 85.


Anthony “Tony” Gorski, of Milford, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.  He was 85.

Mr. Gorski was born on Aug. 12, 1923 in New York Mills, N.Y., son of the late Roman and Catherine (Medula) Gorski.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during World War II.

Mr. Gorski was employed as a painter for 32 years with Grumman Aircraft Corporation in Bethpage, N.Y., retiring in 1984.

Tony enjoyed stamp collecting and was a member of the Sussex Stamp Club.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post No. 7478 in Greenwood and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Milford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Gorski, Joseph Gorski and Stanley Gorski and three sisters, Sophia Gorski, Annette Gorski and Mary Redwall.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Magdalena Gorski; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael S. and Janice Gorski of Milford and James F. and Susan Gorski of Farmingdale, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Ave., Milford.

Burial with military honors was at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, 2928 Sharon Hill Road, Dover.
