Do you know that Delaware Tech has paved the way to your bachelor’s degree, and there are opportunities to earn one in Sussex County? Do you know where an associate degree from Delaware Tech can take you?  Find out the answers to these questions and more at the “Connected Degree Day” event scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 11, 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Services Center at Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown.

The focus of the event is the established agreements Delaware Tech has with Delaware State University, the University of Delaware, and Wilmington University to offer clear and economical pathways for Delaware Tech graduates to continue their education.

The connected degree programs enable Delaware Tech students to graduate with an associate degree, be accepted at a partner institution, and then transfer as a junior. The senior institutions listed above all offer classes on the Owens Campus in the William Carter Partnership Center; thus, students are able to obtain a bachelor’s degree in specified programs without leaving Sussex County.

Displays by the four partner institutions will provide information about the programs available and the requirements and timelines for the process; applications will be available and staff will be present to answer questions.

Adding an element of “fun” to the day will be the presence of the mascots for each institution: the Roadrunner from the Owens Campus, Delaware State’s Hornet, the University of Delaware’s Blue Hen, and Wilmington University’s Wildcat – all firm believers in the value of higher education!

Established in 1992, the higher education partnerships continue to be successful, offering career opportunities to hundreds of area residents.
